Feathers Blue

Standing upright, along the river bank.
For its beauty, God is to thank.
Long stilt legs, propped on waterside.
Stands so still, hunts over the tide.
Born a fisherman, chain of life.
Their features, sharp as a knife.
Feathers blue, in his name.
Shades of grey, all the same.
Never moves from rocky perch.
Continues that fishery search.
Patience, watch for hours.
Long necks. that tower.
Slowly stalks with a high step stride.
Watch the fish. Go and hide.
In flight, through air, they float.
Amazed at the bend in their throat.
Taken back, by the silent glare.
Another one of, Nature’s flair.
